To everyone who's been asking about Thraxas. As you will appreciate, it's a little awkward talking about the future of a series when it's between publishers, as it were.

The intention was for Baen to publisher more Thraxas books, rather than Orbit. However, this seems to have stalled, and it's been stalled for a long time, somewhere between my agent and the publisher. I don't know exactly why, apart from there are some parts of the contract they can't agree on. This has been going on for a long time now, and I honestly don't know if it will ever be sorted out. I understand it's a question of rights, rather than money. It's a pity. Baen are a good publisher, and I did intend to carry on with Thraxas. However, I'm not going to overrule my agent, and if they can't agree a contract, then that's it.

So I'll have to wait and see, but really, there's been such a long delay that I'm not that optimistic. On the other hand, I did get to write eight books about Thraxas, and they've been published all over the world, so really it's been quite a successful series.

The first Chinese language edition of Thraxas has been published in Taiwan by Sharp Point Publishing. The second book will follow soon. These are nice covers, you can see larger versions on my foreign covers page.

    

The eighth Thraxas novel has been published in Germany. The German title is 'Sturm und Drang'. All foreign editions of Thraxas are listed on the translations page.

Meanwhile, the translator in Taiwan is busy translating Thraxas into Chinese, though I don't know when these will be published.

AST has bought the Russian rights to Thraxas Under Siege

I'm making slow progress with Thraxas book nine. Still, I am making progress.

I've started putting the first chapter of each Thraxas novel online, on the books page. I hope this is a good idea.

Meanwhile work has started on translating Thraxas into Chinese, for the publisher in Taiwan.

Thraxas Under Siege, book 8 in the series, has now been published in Britain.

Baen have just published a hardback edition of Thraxas and the Sorcerers in the USA.

Sharp Point Publishing Company in Taiwan have bought all eight Thraxas books.

Baen will be publishing books 5 & 6 in the series in hard back this year in the USA

The next Thraxas book, Thraxas under Siege, will be published in May in the UK.

Baen in the USA will publish their next volume of Thraxas in September. This edition, Death and Thraxas, will include books 3 and 4 of the series, Thraxas at the Races and Thraxas and the Elvish Isles.

Meanwhile I'm still writing the eighth Thraxas book, Thraxas under siege, and it's been going very slowly. There is no prospect of this being published before next summer.

The first edition of Thraxas will be published in the USA in September. This volume will contain the first two novels, Thraxas and Thraxas and the Warrior Monks.

The first Thraxas book has been nominated for the Seiun Award, for novels translated into Japanese, at 'T-con 2003' the 42nd Japan Science Fiction Convention (July 19-21, Shiobara Hot Spa, Tochigi, Japan.)

Thraxas and the Sorcerers will be published in Germany in June, under the title of Der Konvent der Zauberer. The publisher is Blanvalet and it's the fifth Thraxas book to be translated into German.

Corrected the manuscript for Thraxas at War. Everything now finished, book to be published in the UK in July.

The German publisher Blanvalet just sent me copies of their fourth Thraxas translation, Die Reise zu den Elfeninseln. This will come out in Germany in February.

Thraxas at War, seventh book in the series, is due to come out later this year. Am currently writing new Martin Millar book, but also giving thought to next Thraxas novel, probably called Thraxas under Siege.

Received copy of fifth Russian Thraxas novel, put picture on covers page. I think Russia has the fattest version of Thraxas.
